I Save Earthworms, Lucy Eats them!

The other day when it wasn't so warm out, I ended up walking with Ethan and Lucy 3 times in one day before Joe got home. (we usually do a walk with Daddy to get the mail)

That particular day it seemed to me that there were a large amount of earthworms crawling across the trail path in our neighborhood. Knowing that these little guys are just too slow for their own good, and didn't want all of them to get crispy in the heat of the sun, I decided that I would save a few. I threw them into the grass, not sure if that was saving them, but at least they wouldn't get burnt on the pavement.

Yesterday when I took Ethan and Lucy on a walk, we saw many crispy earthworms and to Lucy's delight she munched on several during our stroll. I suppose they aren't harmful to her, perhaps some extra protein she may feel she's lacking in her current diet. A little more meaty than when she eats those large pesky mosquitos that make it into our home some nights. (which come to think of, hasn't happened in a while)

That's all, no pictures of the muncher.

The other day I went into Ethan's room and found this!

I guess now he's trying to climb on stuff, gotta keep an ever increasingly more watchful eye on him. He's sooo cute! Love him.

Sitting here and eating come Starbucks Caramel Machiatto Ice Cream. It's good, but I think I like the Java Chip Frappacino Ice Cream flavor better. The Caramel is too sweet and the Java has enough coffee bite to it.

mmmmm, yum!

Well I'm done with that now, back to the real reason I came to blog. Ethan!!! My beautiful baby boy is 7 months old!!!! No teeth yet, but I can see one coming. I wonder how long it takes for it to pop through, I can see a corner of the it, just some white, but it hasn't broken through the gums yet. Poor baby, he's been teething a bit every day or so this past week.

Ethan is still crawling and getting faster everyday! He's pulling up on more and more stuff to stand, but not walking along the couch bit. Just pulling up to get to something like, hmmm a remote or my plate or something I've put on the coffee table that he wants to get to. ha!

It looks like his bald head is growing some more hair. Sometimes it looks blonde and other times it looks brown and every once in a blue moon (is there really a blue moon?) he looks like he's got some red tinge to the blonde hair.

He's my skinny baby so he's wearing 6 month size, alot of 3-6 still fits him and maybe I can squeeze him into 3 month sizes, but I'm thinking I'm going to take the 3 months clothes and put them away. No need to shove him in a 3 month outfit, when I've got plenty of 3-6 and 6 month size that he can wear. Some of the 6 month sizes look super huge on him, but he'll grow into it soon.

Food: New foods he's tried recently are pears, bananas, peas. These are in addition to what he's had already oatmeal and rice cereal, avacado, green beans, carrots, applesauce, sweet potatoes. yum! I've made most of the food, but have bought some of the gerber foods when I was in a hurry and hadn't made any.

We had a great Labor Day Weekend! Friday we took Ethan to Downtown Franklin and we ate at the Franklin Mercantile. It wasn't packed and it was quite delicious. The weather was gorgeous out, so afterwards we walked around the square and window shopped.

Saturday we all got up early and went to Crockett Park so Mommy could run her 10k, since she's training for the Women's Half coming up in a few weeks. Then I ran some errands and after Ethan's nap we had a cook out at Cane Ridge Park. Next time we'll be better prepared as in our haste we forgot plasticware, plates, napkins, tongs for the grill and more stuff I'm sure. So it was quite interesting our little family picnic. Ethan really enjoyed being outside.

Sunday was church, some grocery shopping, and then dinner with some neighbors who are getting ready to have a baby girl in late October. yay, play dates for Ethan!

Today we got up and hiked at Edwin Warner Park. The weather was crisp and cool, very nice for hiking. It did warm up about half way through, but still nice out. Lucy came too and met another doxie, her name was bubbles. I fancy lucy's name better. ;o)

[Below are pics from the picnic and then the hike from this morning]
