Kathy got glasses!

Last weekend, I was in the mall with Joe and decided to get an eye exam. They were advertising the exam for $39! Which I thought was pretty reasonable, since I hadn't had my eyes checked in probably over 10 years. Neat thing was, my insurance covered half the cost of the exam.

Anyway, I only wear them for driving, especially at night. Street signs have been a blur for a while, and thus the reason for an eye exam. Below are pics of me with my glasses and without.

Lucy didn't want to pose with me. See her paw pushing me away!

Oh yeah, this is a pic of one of my boots that I got for my birthday.

Visit from my Great Aunt Eloise
While in Georgia, my Aunt Eloise stopped by for a visit. She is my Papa Fred's sister. My mom's aunt, so she's my Great Aunt. I love her so much, she's absolutely so fun to be around. I'm glad she stopped by. Pictured from left to right, my mom, Marie, my great aunt, Eloise, and me.

Christmas in Georgia

Joe and I drove to Jacksonville, FL to meet up with Jen and her husband Gregg. It was great to see them both.

Christmas tree surrounded by a massive mound of presents. Hey, there were 19 people there!

Stockings were not hung by the chimney with care, but laid gently on the bricks. :o)

So I went for a brief hike today, rather a stroll through a park. The park and hike, while not the same as in the Pacific Northwest, it is always just great to get outside, and allows for some good exercise, peace, and relaxation.

One thing I've pondered recently, particularly entering this new year, is balance. That is a wholeistic balance in life with family, faith, service, work, health...everything. If any of these are out of whack, I've found life to be 'off'' and less 'fullfilling'.

I'll keep this one short, but here is to a great new year, a balanced and embraced life, that is positively impactful in the things we do and the people we serve!!

God Bless!
